10.30 p.m.
While the worshiping of Goddess Durga begins, the ravaging of my sleep sets off too. I hear loud harsh voices singing Bhajan. After dinner and exactly at my reading time, a cacophonous blares across and a thunderous voice rises, āAhhhhahhhhhh! OhooooOHā¦ā And continues to go on uneven chords. I try to dart my mind on page 230 but the booming voices win my hatred. I mumble under my chin, āIf not me, at least let Durga Ji sleep.ā I pop my head out of the window and gaze at a bunch of people in the other society, singing and sitting. It is a legal rule that no use of loud speakers can be done between 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. But these tiny smurfs are painting the town red at exactly the hour where balring noises are restricted. I dig my face into a pillow.
7 a.m.
Bhajan did not disturb my sleep at all! It couldnāt even pluck a feather! Just couldnāt sleep till 1 a.m. and faced insomnia for a further half an hour, had a dream about paranormal activities, and Bhajan is so great. I lug myself out of the blanket and pretend to be half asleep.
11 a.m.
As I sit at my desk, waiting for my classes to start, out of the blue a voice arises, āOhOOOO! Ahahaa! OHOOOO! AHAHAHAAAAAA!ā I pretend to snub the disastrous disturbance and focus more on the jokes being made on a group chat where all my friends live.
Just with a flick of a switch I hear āBum! BHOOM BHOOM!ā Noise pollution wasnāt ample, thus the humans developed Noise AND Air Pollution. Two in one! Now when these crackers become trash and reach the ground, we will have a Water AND Land Pollution. Four in one! A lovely day with all kinds of Pollution taught in third grade. I press the Enter Key and send a text to the group chat and receive a wonderful reply for Jaffa saying āWho bursts crackers during Navratri? Lolā Lol these people living beside my society.

6 p.m.
I stand in the serve position with the badminton racket clenched between my fingers. I look towards my glorious left and kids between the ages of 6-8 are doing the most beautiful thing! Why wonder? Obviously they are bursting crackers without any of their parents around. Not only bursting but also at a place which is known as āPedestrian Pathā. The place where people walk. I turn my head and create not only one but two reasons to wear a mask. Corona and Pollution.
10.20 p.m.
I enter my room and āOHOOOOOOOOOOOO! AHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAAA! Aaj ek bohot shub din hai!ā
Who will tell this person that it is no longer ādinā and night has arrived.
I can feel your frustration and totally understand where it is coming from. People in and around your society can definitely relate with you. More patience to you to handle this for few more days. Feeling sorry for youš
